Fees

Sydney Adventist Hospital Emergency Care Department is a private outpatient service, therefore the cost of your visit is not covered by private health insurance. 

To ensure fast access to exceptional emergency care, supported by the full strength of Sydney Adventist Hospital, our fixed out-of-pocket fee is now $420 for patients (full fee). As a service to the community, the San waives this $420 fee for patients who arrive by ambulance.

This updated fee now comes with the benefits of capped pathology and radiology fees.

We bill Medicare directly for the emergency department doctors' procedures and consults. Concessions are given to DVA patients and emergency service personnel.

Specialist doctors may be required to consult or treat you, along with our Emergency Care doctors. These specialists will charge their own fees. Although Medicare and/or your health fund will contribute towards specialist consultations, you will be responsible for paying any gap.

Other services may also incur a fee if they are required, such as Pharmacy, Physiotherapy (consultations, crutches and/or splints) or other diagnostic services.

A doctor's referral is not required for treatment.
