Profile
Dr Arma Joshi is a paediatrician with extensive experience in the care of neonates, infants, children, and adolescents across hospital and community settings. She completed her undergraduate medical degree before undertaking postgraduate paediatric training in Australia, working across paediatric services in both Queensland and New South Wales.
Throughout her training, Dr Joshi has gained broad clinical experience in neonatology, general paediatrics, and several paediatric subspecialty areas including paediatric cardiology, haematology, and the care of children with chronic and complex medical conditions. She has worked in both tertiary and community-based settings, managing a wide spectrum of paediatric presentations while supporting children and families with complex health and developmental needs.
Dr Joshi is actively involved in clinical teaching, mentoring junior doctors, and contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives within paediatric services. She is committed to delivering evidence-based, family-centred care and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support the health, development, and wellbeing of children. Her clinical interests include developmental and behavioural paediatrics, neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism, neonatology, and the care of children with chronic and complex medical needs.
Research
Dr Joshi has a broad interest in paediatric research aimed at improving health and developmental outcomes for children. Her research interests include neonatology and early infant development, with a particular focus on early identification of developmental concerns and supporting optimal developmental trajectories in infancy and early childhood. She also has research interests in developmental and behavioural paediatrics, including neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism spectrum disorder, as well as the assessment and management of behavioural and developmental challenges in children. In addition, Dr Joshi is interested in research across broader areas of paediatrics including paediatric cardiology, haematology, and the care of children with chronic and complex medical conditions. She values research that translates into practical improvements in clinical care and supports multidisciplinary approaches to paediatric healthcare.
Dr Joshi remains committed to contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives that enhance paediatric service delivery and promote better long-term health and developmental outcomes for children and their families.
